Governor

Dr Dawn Edge is a Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor at The University of Manchester. She is also a Non-Executive Director of Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust and a Winston Churchill Fellow.

Dawn’s research focuses on reducing health inequalities experienced by marginalised groups in society. In particular, her research explores intersections between determinants of health and illness such as ethnicity, gender, socioeconomic status and mental health.

Dawn is particularly interested in building resilient individuals and communities. Currently, she’s working with people with mental illness and their families to develop and test a new form of ‘talking therapy’ and an online educational programme. Dawn also undertakes research into the health of people in prison, maternal depression and dementia.
