A message from our Executive Head Teacher

I have great pleasure of introducing myself as the Executive Head Teacher of Longsight Community Primary School and Family Hub. In addition to leading the school I am the Strategic Lead for Longsight and Ardwick Children’s Centres and Longsight and Slade nurseries. Our vision is ‘Together we achieve’.
Our school delivers the highest standards of education and behaviour through the community, parents, teachers and children working together to achieve the best results. Through learning together children, parents and teachers will:-

• Value and enjoy education
• Aspire to achieve the best they can
• Respect and value differences
• Express common values and standards
• Help each other to learn
• Maximise the rich opportunities that life will bring

I was born and raised in Longsight and understand the values, the issues and aspirations of the people of Longsight.  Our family hub continues to support the children and families in Longsight. We start where people are at, and support them to get to where they want to be. We support the whole family from birth onwards, offering volunteering, training and work, and programmes to develop health and well-being. I feel privileged to lead a school from opening to an inspiring place which serves its local community with pride and a commitment to excellence.

Mrs Rukhsana Ahmed

Dear parent and carers,

On Thursday, 6 June our wonderful friend and treasured colleague Mrs Sadia Ahmed passed away.

Sadia was the life and soul of our school and she leaves behind a huge hole in the heart of Longsight Community Primary. Sadia was an amazing teacher and her children are a testament to her determination that all our children achieved their potential.

She was a wonderfully kind, open-hearted friend whose sense of humour still make us smile now even while we are all grieving. I know she welcomed all parents with open arms and that you will all miss her as much as we will. Please talk to your children about Mrs Ahmed as I know they may have questions. A book of condolence will be open this week for you to share your messages and memories.

We are heart-broken for the life not yet lived, but grateful for the life she did live. Rest in peace our beloved friend.

Mrs Rukhsana Ahmed and all the staff and friends of Longsight Community Primary.
