Big Chance Programme

Welcome to Big Chance – run by Big Life Schools!

This is a community programme taking place across the Cheetham and Longsight areas – including here at Longsight Community Primary School & Longsight Library.

Big Chance will provide support for families, women, and local people in our community. From September 2025, there will be FREE workshops and coffee mornings every week & courses to help you apply for jobs, learn skills and build confidence.

All services will be led in a culturally appropriate and sensitive manner. Childcare will also be available during sessions on a first-come, first-served basis.

We are here to help with:

✅ Building relationships in your community & meeting people like you
✅ Training in IT, Maths and English
✅ Learning digital skills and using the internet safely
✅ Free 1-to-1 support with a mentor (available in English and community languages)
✅ Building your confidence and feeling good
✅ Talking about emotions and looking after your mental health
✅ Learning how to apply for jobs, write a CV, and do online interviews

The different types of sessions include  Arabic-speaking women’s coffee morning, weekly wellbeing workshops, henna art sessions, IT training and support for applying to jobs.

Some will be supported by local providers and community organisations, such as:
